Inaugural Live Like Brent Gala a Massive Success!
On July 13, 2018 hundreds gathered to be a part of Carve for Cancer's Inaugural Live Like Brent Gala at the FM Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The event was spectacular and over $40,000 dollars was raised to fight blood cancer. The evening began with cocktail hour where guests were treated to music by local musicians as they sipped beverages and browsed a plethora exceptional silent auction items. Everything from hand made art to a Rolling Stones signed electric guitar were up for grabs.
After cocktail hour, guests took their seats in the impeccably designed and decorated main floor of the Kirby Center. Carve for Cancer team members took turns on stage talking about their founder, Brent Evans (who passed away nearly a year prior to the event) and the various accomplishments their organization has achieved of the years. Dr. Andrei Shustov and the team at Fox Chase Cancer Center highlighted the remarkable work the organization is doing with videos about their ongoing programs.
Finally, guests enjoyed a delectable meal catered by the Westmoreland Club while Gilson Skis and Snowboards founder, Nick Gilson entertained with his story about never giving up.... an important theme of the night. Thanks to all who joined Carve for Cancer for a fabulous night.
Until next year!
