On October 20th, 2018 Carve 4 Cancer made their Brooklyn debut by hosting the NYC Skateboard Jam Presented by Atavist. The event was a huge success with hundreds of longboarders, supporters, and spectators filing in throughout day to enjoy the festivities.
As usual Carve 4 Cancer (C4C) put on the event to further the mission of Shredding Blood Cancers. The event hit the ground running thanks to the support of amazing companies like Ativist, Gilson, JMR Video Equipment Rentals, Take Chances, Orangatang, Susanville, Brrrn, Getdie Board Co, Loaded, Diffy Productions, Paris Truck Co, and Sector 9.
Cameron Ferrara, executive director of Carve 4 Cancer, was thrilled with the event. “This was our first time hosting this type of event and our first time hosting an NYC based event. The support has been absolutely incredible and we are so stoked to have such great support in this city.” He Said. Cameron said they plan to continue to build on the event in years to come and are excited to grow their presence in the NYC area.
Earl Stout, board member and rider outreach for Carve 4 Cancer agreed. “The response from the riders was amazing. Everyone had a blast, the location was amazing, and we raised a ton of money to fight blood cancer. Can’t ask for more than that!”
